ArticStory has no levels — you grow by mastering weapons.

ArticStory has no levels and no jobs. Your power comes entirely from weapon mastery — the more you fight, the stronger you get with the weapons you use, and the skills you can cast are loaded from the gear you wear.

The three tracks

Once a class tree is capped at 200, extra kills bank as Free EXP you can pour into other weapons you've already used — so nothing is wasted.

Type carryover

Mastering a weapon type isn't lost when you swap weapons: 10% of your best-ever mastery of a weapon type (e.g. one-handed swords) carries onto any fresher weapon of that same type.

Mastery XP curve

Each mob kill grants mastery XP to your equipped weapon's class and to the weapon itself. The XP needed to raise class proficiency by one rung:

Skills come from gear

You don't pick skills from a menu — your weapon loads its class tree + a weapon-type signature move, and your worn hat, top, bottom and shoes each load a class-flavored buff. Every character has a 50 MP pool. See Skills & Buffs.
